Custody calorifier repair, combined court in Kent

A failed 900 litre calorifier serving the custody suite brought back into service with a new three-phase immersion heater and a plan for its replacement.

Project overview

A reactive repair to the hot water calorifier serving the custody suite at a combined court, delivered for its facilities management provider.

SCOPE

Restore hot water to the custody area quickly and advise on the long-term condition of the vessel.

WHAT WE DID

Our engineer drained the 900 litre calorifier, cleared heavy scale from the vessel and replaced the failed 24 kW three-phase immersion heater, then refilled, tested and returned the unit to service. Given the age and condition of the vessel and the actual demand, we recommended a smaller 300 litre replacement that would be cheaper to run and easier to maintain.

OUTCOME

Hot water restored to the custody suite, and a practical recommendation that reduces both risk and running costs.
